- What should I do before the dumpster is going to be delivered?
- Make sure the driveway is clear and if there is a location to where you want the dumpster to place a cone or object for our driver.
- Do I have to be home when the dumpster is being delivered?
- No, you don’t have to be home when delivered.
- Do I have to be home when the dumpster is being removed?
- No, you don’t have to be home when being removed.
- Will there be a charge if the dumpster is blocked when you come to remove it?
- Yes, it would be considered a dead run and there will be a $100 charge.
- How many days do I get the dumpster for?
- You are allowed (10) business days with the dumpster
- Are there any rental fees?
- Yes, after the (10) business days there is a $10 charge per day until removal.
- My dumpster is still here after (10) business days, how come you didn’t pick it up?
- The customer is responsible to call Opdenaker to have the dumpster removed.
- What items can’t go into the dumpster?
- Washer, dryer, refrigerator, dehumidifier, wet paint, stove, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, hazardous waste and any freon items.
- How can I pay for the dumpster?
- Opdenaker accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discovery, check and cash for payments.
- How much notice do I need to give Opdenaker to have a dumpster delivered?
- Opdenaker would like a 24-hour notice before having the dumpster delivered.
- Do you service dumpster on Saturday or Sunday?
- The service days for deliveries or removals are done Monday through Friday.
- What if my driveway is damaged during the delivery or removal?
- Opdenaker is not held responsible for any damage done to the driveway and all dumpsters are supplied with wood underneath.
- Can I go over the maximum level by a foot or two?
- All items in the dumpsters should be under the maximum level so it can be haul safely. If driver can’t haul the dumpster because of items sticking above the maximum level there will be a dead run charge of $100.
- How big are the dumpsters?
- 10YD – 3ft x 8ft x 11ft
- 15YD – 3ft x 8ft x 17ft
- 20YD – 3ft x 8ft x 22ft
- 30YD – 6ft x 8ft x 22ft
- I’m cleaning out old stuff from my basement and garage what size dumpster should I get?
- I would recommend a 30yd dumpster.
- I’m remodeling my kitchen what size dumpster should I get?
- Depending on the size of the kitchen a 10yd or 15yd dumpster.
- I’m remodeling a bathroom what size dumpster should I get?
- I would recommend a 10yd dumpster.
- I’m tearing off my deck what size dumpster should I get?
- Depending on the size of the deck I would recommend a 20yd or 30yd dumpster.
- I’m cleaning out a house, do you offer a service where you load the dumpster for the customer?
- We usually don’t do this
- Do I need a permit to place a dumpster in front of my house?
- Opdenaker is not responsible for getting permits. The homeowner would need to contact their township.
- What happens when my trash day is on a holiday?
- If your regularly scheduled collection day occurs on a holiday, you will be serviced the following day. If your regularly scheduled collection day occurs after a holiday during a holiday week, you will be serviced the following day.
- How do I dispose of bulk items?
- Bulk items are an additional charge, and they need to be scheduled and paid for in advance for your regular trash day. Each item is priced individually, and the price does go down with 3 or more items. If possible, we ask that you please send us a photo of the items, so we can give you the most accurate price.
- What is not allowed in the recycling?

- What time should I put my trash and recycling out?
- Have your trash and recycling cans out the night before pick up, or by 5 A.M. day of pick up.
- My recycling is contaminated. What do I do?
- If your recycling is contaminated, we can pick it up on your next trash service day. Please give us a call to schedule this.
- I put my trash/recycling out late. What do I do?
- If your trash or recycling was put out late, it must wait until the next service day. If you need it picked up sooner, there is a $35 charge.
- Are you hiring?
- We are not hiring at this time, but you are always welcome to fill out an application at our office.
- How much trash can I put out per collection?
- You are allowed one trash can per collection, plus an occasional extra 3 bags.
- How much are your roll-off dumpsters?
- The price of our roll-off dumpsters varies according to size and what will be going in the dumpster. Please give us a call for a quote.
- How much do you charge for residential trash collection?
- Please give us a call for a quote on residential trash collection.
- How do I dispose of paint cans?
- Paint cans need to be completely dry and hardened with the lids off, next to the can. Typically putting sand in the paint can for a week will help dry the paint out completely. We cannot take any wet paint. An excessive amount of paint cans would be considered a bulk item pick up.
- How do we dispose of our Christmas tree?
- Christmas trees are often collected by a customer's township. Please check with your township to determine if you live in an area with township provided Christmas tree collection. If your township does not provide Christmas tree collection, please cut your tree in half and leave alongside of your trash on your regularly scheduled service day.
- How do I dispose of needles?
- Needles can be placed inside a thick plastic container with a lid to be disposed us. (A laundry detergent bottle, for example.)
- How do I get rid of yard waste? For example: tree branches; leaves; grass clippings.
- All branches and trimmings have to be cut into 3 foot lengths, and tied up. Larger yard waste, or a large amount, is considered bulk.
- My trash/recycling can is broken. How do I get a new one?
- If your trash or recycling can is an Opdenaker can, we can swap it out for another one at no charge. Please give us a call to schedule this.
- What is your billing cycle for residential trash?
- Our billing cycle is quarterly.
